International Short Film Competition
3° Edition

L’Isola del Cinema® in collaboration with Scuola di Cinema di Roma, presents Urban Islands “Cinema and City” (2010), an International Short Film Competition dedicated to the metropolis. The topic of the competition is the City’s manifold realities: the urban set,  the mass flow, the collective and individual psychology in the modern metropolis, the cosmopolitanism, the technology, the discomfort, the contradictions.
A selected committee will select the best short films.
The selected short films will be screened during the L’Isola del Cinema  in Rome from  June 15th to  August 29th.
The best short and the best editing will be awarded by a internal committee.

COMPETITION REGULATIONS

L’Isola del Cinema, in collaboration with Scuola di Cinema di Roma, organizes the short films competition Urban Islands 2010 – “Cinema and the City”.
A phase of selection of the works is previewed, at unquestionable judgment of the committee of selection.
The selected short films will be screened during the L’Isola del Cinema  in Rome from  June 15th to August 29th.
The best short and the best editing will be awarded by the internal committee.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

To submit your short film to the Urban Islands Short Film Festival, please read our eligibility requirements below:

1. The participation does not require any cost.
2. Authors are responsible of the content of works.
3. All short films must be delivered in DVD format,
4. The works should preferably be contained within 10 minutes.
5. Short films already awarded by others competitions will not be accepted.
6. The Application Form is available on www.isoladelcinema.com and www.scuoladicinema.it
7. An application must contain:
• Short film DVD
• Synopsis 
• two backstage pictures
• the application form, legibly filled up, with all required information
8. Submission deadline is June 30th 2010. The application form and video should be sent at the applicant’s expense to the following address:

9. The submitted copies won’t be returned.
10. The participation to the exhibition implies the integral acceptance of the present regulations.

AWARDS:

• Best ShortFilm - Metropolis Award: Grant of Euro 3.000 for a “Direction Course” on the Scuola di Cinema di Roma (www.scuoladicinema.it)
• Best Editing: Grant of Euro 1.000 for a “AVID Editing – High Professional Specialized Course) certificated by the Avid Authorised Education Centre.

• The undersigned allows the public screening for promotional sakes and completely for free the film mentioned in this form and of which I have the legal rights.
